Spicy Sesame Dry Noodles

  • 3 tbsps (45 g) Sesame Paste
  • 2 tsps (10 g) Sesame Oil
  • 2 tbsps (40 g) McCormick® Grill Mates® Sichuan Mala Sauce
  • 1/2 tsps (3 g) McCormick® Garlic Powder
  • 350 g Fresh Chinese Alkaline Noodles
  • 1/2 cups (100 g) Zha Cai (Preserved Mustard Stem), chopped (optional)
  • Coriander, chopped, as garnish
  • Spring Onion, chopped, as garnish
  • Peanuts, roasted, chopped, as garnish

Preparation

  • Start by preparing the sauce. Mix sesame paste with Grill Mates Sichuan Mala Sauce, sesame oil and McCormick Garlic Powder. If the sauce is too thick, add in a few drops of warm water to thin out. Add one more tbsp (20g) of Grill Mates Sichuan Mala Sauce if you like spicier level.

  • Boil a pot of water to cook the noodles as per package instructions. Drain and shake off any excess liquid from the noodles with extra sesame oil to prevent noodles sticking together.

  • Add in prepared sauce with garnishes such as Zha Cai (optional), coriander, spring onion and peanuts. Quickly toss the noodles together and serve hot. Onsen eggs, grilled chicken or stir-fried minced beef can be added on top for extra protein.
